Review Habitat Press Books at These Websites

Nothing beats that feeling of reading a great book and wanting to tell everyone about it. These seven sites enable readers to review Habitat Press books with their own honest reviews and recommend titles for others to enjoy.
As a small indie publisher, we always appreciate (and rely on) your support to bring other readers to our books.
If you want to help us in our mission to promote sustainable behaviour through fabulous fiction, please review our books. The most impactful will be Amazon and you don’t have to have bought the book from their site to review there, but other review sites are also helpful, see below:

If you see the ‘look inside’ icon, you’ll also be able to preview the first few pages of a book. Amazon is also one of the largest online sellers for second-hand books if you don’t mind used copies.
How to add a review on Amazon:
- Search for the book in the search bar at the top of the page, and then select the correct book.
- When the selected page opens, click on the star rating underneath the title and author on the page, then click on ‘See all customer reviews’.
- The page will scroll down to the customer reviews, and you can click on ‘Add a Customer Review’ at the left side underneath the star ratings. Here you can add your own star rating, photos, your review and title.
Habitat Press
At Habitat Press we support books that emerge from the Green Stories project, including winners of our writing competitions and climate fiction projects.
How to review a book on Habitat Press:
- Navigate to https://habitatpress.com/shop and choose a book to review.
- Scroll down to ‘Description/Additional Information/Reviews’ section and select ‘Review’.
- Select your star rating, add in your details and review, and press submit.
Goodreads
Goodreads allows you to track what books you have read and find more books to add to your ‘To be read’ list. You can follow friends and your favourite authors to see what they are enjoying.
How to review a book on Goodreads:
- To add a review, search for the book in the toolbar at the top of the page.
- Select the book and add the star rating under the book image on the left-hand side. Then click on ‘Write a review’. A new page will open, allowing you to add the book to your personalised ‘shelf’ or to tag the book for your own collections.
- You can add your review in the main text box, add the dates you read the book and any private notes you want to include for yourself.
Facebook and others
There are numerous Facebook sites for book lovers to share recommendations. Below are just a few. Find one or two that suit you and post our books among other recommendations you may have.
Book lovers Book group (readers), Book Lovers (1.1m members, authors and readers) , World of Books Ltd (235 members), Must Read Book Recommendations📚(1.6m members) gals who read (480k members, don’t post external links), Good Housekeeping Book Room (87k members) Hooked On The Book (private 330k members) Book Recommendations (50K members Private group), Book Lover (128.5k members) and many others.
You may also know of WhatsApp reader sites or sites such as Shepherd that match readers with books they’ll enjoy.
LibraryThing
We’re keen to get our books into libraries and you can help by suggesting your local library stock the book.
Alternatively, LibraryThing is a free platform where you can track, rate and review your reading. The platform boasts more than 2.3 million members and allows you to add up to 200 books with a free account.
How to add a review on LibraryThing:
- Create an account and search for the book in the search bar on the left-hand side of the webpage.
- Select your book and select the green ‘Add +’ button on the right-hand side. You can then select your star rating and choose to ‘Add to your library’.
- Select ‘Reviews’ in the list underneath the book cover image on the left-hand side of the page. On this page, you can then add your review and review language before saving it.
StoryGraph
StoryGraph claims that ‘life’s too short for a book you’re not in the mood for’ and we couldn’t agree more! StoryGraph offers recommendations, stats, readalongs and book clubs, all for free.
How to add a review on StoryGraph:
- Create an account and search for the book in the top right search bar.
- Select your book and then select ‘read’ on the right of the page. You will then be given the option to add a review.
- StoryGraph gives you the option to give much more detail in your review, such as who would enjoy the book and whether it is plot or character driven. StoryGraph asks you directed questions and then gives space for anything else you might want to add, rather than just providing a text box for a review.
Waterstones
Although Waterstones is primarily a UK Bookshop chain, the online site allows you to order and ship books internationally, as well as recommendations lists such as ‘recent TV adaptations’ and ‘Dark Academia Books’.
How to add a review on Waterstones:
- Create a Waterstones account, then search for a book.
- Once you have selected a book, you should have an option to ‘Write your review’ under the title and author of the book. This option will only appear if you have made an account and are signed in.
- You can then add your star rating, title and review text before submitting. You can edit your review in your account at any time.
Barnes and Noble
Barnes and Noble is the #1 book retailer in the United States and has been supplying eager readers with their next book for over fifty years. Over 1 million titles are available for immediate delivery, ready to supply you with your next reading fix.
How to review a book on Barnes and Noble:
- Search for your book in the search bar at the top of the Barnes and Noble page.
- Select your book and then select ‘Write a review’ under the title and author of the book.
- A new window will then appear, where you will have the option to add a rating, title, your review text, photos, whether you would recommend the book to a friend and your details.
